There’s a shortage of healthcare workers in America -- but not on Michelle Obama’s watch.
           
Michelle gets individuals to volunteer in hospitals and gets healthcare professionals to become involved in community activities for the University of Chicago Hospitals.  Like you, she understands the Urban League’s mission -- and helps carry it out.

She also serves on nonprofit boards fighting asthma, obesity, and racial division . . . and she “walks the walk” by exercising; “My workout gives me peace,” the Princeton grad says.  She needs it: she’s also a mom, married to U.S. Senator Barack Obama.

“Relationships and understanding,” Michelle says, “are built off real experiences with people.”  So, she builds those “big-picture” bridges -- using education to bring better health to her community.
