Do you have a construction related
or minority owned business in the Gulf Coast
Region that is seeking new contracting opportunities?
We
are Open for Business!
You can
help rebuild the Gulf Coast and build your
business at the same time, it's true. Not
even Hurricane Katrina can keep the people
and businesses of the Gulf Coast down. Over
$10 billion dollars of public and private
projects have been allocated for the Gulf
Coast, so don't miss your chance to grow
your business, build new homes and communities
and make Gulf Coast even better than before.
We can help!
The National Urban League and BP have
developed the Gulf Coast Economic Empowerment
Program, to help small and minority-owned
companies secure contracting opportunities
and resources along the Gulf Coast in the
Housing and Construction industry sectors.
We want to help your business gain access to contracting opportunities with government and major corporations, who provide business resources, procurement opportunities and match-making prospects. On the first two stops on the tour in Lake Charles, LA and Beaumont, TX, over 250 business owners registered for the program and received invaluable information on contacting opportunities in the Gulf Coast region. To get more information and pick-up applications, meet us at the Gulf Coast Economic Empowerment Tour's final stop for this year, New Orleans, LA. On October 16, 2007 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., we will be at the New Orleans Marriott, in New Orleans, LA. All applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
As part of the program you will receive free consultations and recommendations, matchmaking, targeted opportunity notifications, back office operations, technical assistance, tailored services and assessments and periodic reviews. There will also be one-on-one networking sessions with industry leaders and contracting agencies so you can get your piece of the pie.
Already 100 million dollars is committed to support the development and rehabilitation of 10,000 homes and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has given over 500 million dollars to redevelop 1800 public housing units and another 50 million for public infrastructure improvement, yet if you are not in the program, the money will go to someone else, so act now and get your share.
You will be working closely with the Small Business Administration, Louisiana Economic Development, New Orleans Chamber of Commerce to name a few. Already, over 750 firms in the Gulf Coast region have been contacted for potential participation, so build-up the Gulf Coast and build-up your business at the same time.
