The Economic Empowerment Tour is a one-day event that will focus on improving homeownership rates of African Americans. The tour's intent is to heighten awareness of economic disparities between minorities and whites in the United States and to provide tools to help African Americans empower themselves financially.

Economic empowerment is a core component of the National Urban League's five-prong Empowerment Agenda that embraces four major tenets: better jobs, increased homeownership, greater entrepreneurship and enhanced financial literacy.

The one-day tour will take place at Minute Maid Park and will kick off at 1:00 p.m. with a resource fair. The National Urban League and the Houston Area Urban League invite you to come talk one-on-one with career, banking, real-estate and investment experts. Exhibitors will include banks, credit unions, homeownership organizations and many others who will touch upon topics ranging from understanding credit to how to obtain mortgages to home maintenance.
