2011 Whitney M. Young Conference

Held annually, the Whitney M. Young conference helps develop the capacity and effectiveness of non-profit leaders and their staff. Cultivating and enhancing the leadership capabilities of individuals and organizations that serve urban communities, the conference features:

The conference is named for former executive director of the National Urban League, Whitney M. Young Jr., under whose leadership the Urban League Movement grew from 63 to 98 affiliates; its professional staff increased from 300 to over 1200, its budget increased tenfold; the equality symbol was adopted as the League’s logo and board membership expanded to include youth under-thirty years of age.
