  • BEEP @ 40: A Legacy of Leadership
  • Celebrating it's fortieth year, the Black Executive Exchange Program's mission is to share learning experience across generations, cultivate new leaders, and inspire achievements 'beyond the possible' through committed involvement and operational excellence.

    Each year BEEP stages a four-day conference to review and evaluate the past year's programs and activities, exchange ideas, plan for the new academic term and discuss current issues and trends in professional development.

    This years conference is being held:
    June 3-5, 2009

    The conference is attended by some 400 business professionals, participating executives and 100 participating students.Conference activities include professional development seminars, including the Leadership Development Institute; industry workshops, networking meal functions and social events.

    Speakers include:
    Marc H. Morial, President & Chief Executive Officer, National Urban League; Keith Wyche, President, U.S. Operations, Pitney Bowes; James Taylor, President, Sodexo USA; Myron Gray, Sr. Vice President, U.S. Operations, UPS; Dr. Randal Pinkett, President, BCT Partners; Vicki Hamilton, Sr. Vice President, Turner Broadcasting System; Peggy Anson, Sr. Vice President, The Hartford; Marvin Ellison, Sr. Vice President, Home Depot; C. Virginia Fields, President/CEO, National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS; Cynthia Tucker, Journalist, Atlanta Journal Constitution

    Activites at the conference include:

    Leadership BEEP: A student leadership institute with 150 students participating from 35 HBCUs and three majority campuses. Students evaluate their leadership and personality styles through the use of self-assessment tools, intense workshops and interaction with African-American executives and their student peers.

    Case Competition: Nine (9) teams have presented strategies to increase brand marketing for Walmart. The top three teams will compete on site and the winners will be announced at the closing awards banquet. All three teams will receive cash prizes.
