  • About NULYP

National Urban League Young Professionals (NULYP) is an auxiliary organization dedicated to bringing the next generation of leaders into the Urban League movement.

The organization serves as an umbrella over dozens of Urban League Young Professional chapters in cities across the country. Through these chapters, thousands of members, ages 21 to 40, work to advance the Urban League agenda through corporate, social and community activism.

Our members believe in economic and social parity, and are working hard to develop proactive and innovative resolutions to the challenges our society faces.

    Message from the President

The National Urban League Young Professionals is the future. We're not only the future of the Urban League movement, but our members represent the future of this country. Across the United States, our members are local business leaders, entrepreneurs, corporate executives, politicians, social and community activists, and the list goes on. Our chapters have attracted some of the best and brightest minds, hardest workers, and most critical thinkers who bring extensive resources into the chapters to work together to effect change in the local communities. The existing chapters have developed and implemented some of the most innovative, cutting-edge, and impactive programs aimed at enriching the lives of those who need it most.

NULYP is at a cross-roads in its existence, and we are rapidly elevating this organization to the next level. We have begun to expand our agenda to take a more active, strategic role in the development of the National Urban League agenda. As new National Urban League initiatives are announced and developed, NULYP members will take a seat at the table and play an active role in the planning and development of those initiatives. New chapters are constantly being launched in cities across the country to expand the reach of our services and leadership.

We are excited about the opportunity to shape the future of the civil rights movement, and the agenda of the country at-large, and encourage you to get involved with this great organization.

    B. Michael Young
