National Urban League Mourns the Passing of Broadcast Journalist Ed Bradley
New York, NY (November 9, 2006)- Today, National Urban League President and CEO Marc H. Morial and the Urban League family mourned the sudden passing of CBS News broadcast journalist, Ed Bradley, who died of leukemia at age 65.
Morial issued the following statement:
"We at the National Urban League are saddened by the passing of news journalist Ed Bradley. Mr. Bradley was the model of professionalism integrity and commitment to his craft who served his profession with honor and distinction. As the first African American to co-host of award winning CBS' 60 Minutes program for 26 years, he served as a role model for all of America and was no doubt responsible for countless numbers of African American reporters who hoped to follow in his extraordinary footsteps. We will miss Ed's reassuring voice, presence and his relentless pursuit of excellence in reporting the full story with truth, eloquence and a special sense of humanity."
