    TV Personality/Attorney Star Jones Reynolds to Deliver Keynote at Guild Leadership Luncheon At 2006 National Urban League Annual Conference in Atlanta, Ga.

  • WHAT: Sponsored by AT&T, DSW, ExxonMobil, Value City and Washington Mutual, the annual leadership luncheon of the National Council of Urban Leagues Guilds will feature TV personality and attorney Star Jones Reynolds as keynote speaker. Reynolds is also a member of the Urban League's board.

    Founded in 1942 by Mrs. Mollie Moon, the council is the national association of volunteer auxiliaries of the Urban League. Guilders, who range in age from 45 to 95 years in more than 85 chapters nationwide, donate their time to help expand public understanding and support of the league and its programs.

    Guild president Michelle Crockett will be presiding over the luncheon, with National Urban League President and CEO Marc H. Morial on hand to present the Mollie Moon Volunteer Service Award.

    The National Urban League's 96th annual conference runs from July 26 through July 29 at the Georgia World Congress Center. This year's theme is "Building Economic Power for Black America" and is expected to draw over 10,000 attendees from across the nation and around the region. UPS and The Coca-Cola Company will serve as lead sponsors.

    The conference is the premier networking, recruiting and issues conference for African American professionals nationwide. Highlights include: a career fair with over 100 Fortune 500 Companies and recruiters; top speakers in business, politics and academia; prominent entertainers, an exciting, interactive exhibit hall with five specialty zones; the "Influencer Summit" targeted at young professionals under 40; franchise and business development opportunities; career coaching; and interactive sessions on building wealth, entrepreneurship, health, education and entertainment.
