Time Warner President to Address National Urban League 2006 Annual Conference in Atlanta, Ga.

New York, N.Y. - July 19, 2006 - Richard D. Parsons, chairman & CEO of Time Warner Inc., will serve as the main speaker later this month at the fourth plenary session of the National Urban League's 2000 Annual Conference in Atlanta, Ga.

Sponsored by Staples, the session will occur on Friday July 28 from 2:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. at the Sidney J. Marcus Auditorium at the Georgia World Congress Center.

Named the top CEO in the entertainment industry by Institutional Investor in 2005, Parsons shepherded Time Warner through its turnaround, setting the company back on a solid path to sustainable growth.

Parsons joined Time Warner as president in 1995 after serving on the company's Board of Directors since 1991, and became CEO in 2002. Before Time Warner, he was chairman and CEO of Dime Bancorp, Inc., one of the U.S.'s largest thrift institutions.

His civic and nonprofit contributions have included serving as co-chairman of the Mayor's Commission on Economic Opportunity in New York, chairman of the Apollo Theatre Foundation and on the boards of Howard University, the museums of Modern Art and Natural History.

"We are honored to have such an influential and successful businessman to grace our conference," said National Urban League President & CEO Marc H. Morial. "Dick Parsons is the picture of self-empowerment. He gives African Americans young and old inspiration to push the envelope and achieve their dreams."

The league's 96th annual conference runs from July 26 through July 29 at the Georgia World Congress Center. This year's theme is "Building Economic Power for Black America" and is expected to draw over 10,000 attendees from across the nation and around the region. UPS and The Coca-Cola Company will serve as lead sponsors.

The National Urban League conference is the premier networking, recruiting and issues conference for African American professionals nationwide. Highlights include: a career fair with over 100 Fortune 500 Companies and recruiters; top speakers in business, politics and academia; prominent entertainers, an exciting, interactive exhibit hall with five specialty zones; the "Influencer Summit" targeted at young professionals under 40; franchise and business development opportunities; career coaching; and interactive sessions on building wealth, entrepreneurship, health, education and entertainment.
