    Soul Divas Angie Stone, Gladys Knight To Headline Annual Benefit Concert at National Urban League 2006 Annual Conference in Atlanta



    New York, N.Y. - July 14, 2006 - Soul sensations Gladys Knight and Angie Stone will be headlining the annual benefit concert at the National Urban League's 2006 annual conference in Atlanta, Ga. at the end of this month.

    "This year's benefit concert teams up two of soul music's leading ladies," said National Urban League President & CEO Marc H. Morial. "Gladys Knight is soul music royalty, while Angie Stone is one of its most promising stars. It is truly an honor to have them both at our annual conference."

    The concert will take place on Thursday July 27 at 8:30 p.m. at the Atlanta Civic Center at 395 Piedmont Avenue, NE, which is three blocks from the Marriott & Hyatt hotels.

    The Walt Disney Company will serve as title sponsor, with The Coca Cola Company, Anheuser-Busch, Inc., Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Toyota as co-sponsors. Tickets range from $130 for premium seating and admission to a private VIP pre-concert reception to $80 for orchestra seating and $40-$55 for balcony seats.

    The pre-concert reception will be sponsored by Fortune Brands, Marriott and State Farm Insurance. Shuttle buses will be provided to and from the Atlanta Civic Center and conference hotels.

    The National Urban League's 96th annual conference will run from July 26 through July 29 at the Georgia World Congress Center. This year's theme is "Building Economic Power for Black America" and is expected to draw over 10,000 attendees from across the nation and around the region. UPS and The Coca-Cola Company will serve as conference co-chairs.

    The conference is the premier networking, recruiting and issues conference for African American professionals nationwide. Highlights include: a career fair with over 100 Fortune 500 Companies and recruiters; top speakers in business, politics and academia; an exciting, interactive exhibit hall with five specialty zones; the "Influencer Summit" targeted at young professionals under 40; franchise and business development opportunities; career coaching; and interactive sessions on building wealth, entrepreneurship, health and education.
