NATIONAL URBAN LEAGUE ANNUAL CONFERENCE PLENARY SESSIONS FOCUS ON AFRICAN AMERCIAN POLITICAL AND EDUCATIONAL AGENDA
New York, NY, June 27, 2003—Congressman Elijah E. Cummings (D-MD), Member, U.S. House of Representatives, and Chairman, Congressional Black Caucus, will address the audience at the National Urban League\'s 2003 annual conference on Monday, July 28 at 9:00 a.m. He will precede the Honorable Rod Paige, U.S. Secretary of Education, who is scheduled to speak at 10:15 a.m.
The National Urban League\\\'s 2003 annual conference takes place July 26 through July 30 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pa.
The theme for this year\\\'s conference is The Black Family: Building on its Resilience. The PNC Financial Services Group and Office Depot are the National Co-Chairs. The Urban League of Pittsburgh is the host affiliate and Equitable Resources, Inc. is the Chair of the local host committee.

Marc H. Morial, National Urban League president and former Mayor of New Orleans, for his keynote address, Sunday, July 27 at 6:00 p.m. This session is open to the public.
Willie E. Gary, Esq., Entrepreneur and renowned attorney and Chairman and CEO of MBC Television Networks-the only African-American owned and operated cable network in America-for a luncheon on Monday, July 28 at 12:30 p.m. On Tuesday, July 29, Gary will also host a taping of MBC\\\'s public affairs program, "The Future of Black America", which features a panel discussion moderated by Gary and noted Economist Dr. Julianne Malveaux. The taping is open to all annual conference registered guests.
Judge Glenda Hatchett, one of the youngest and most distinguished African American women ever to serve as the presiding judge of a state court, from TV\\\'s Judge Hatchett, for a luncheon on Wednesday, July 30 at 12:00 p.m.
